The GSPIA Nonprofit Clinic gives graduate students several opportunities to gain valuable experience working with nonprofit organizations. Some students seek experience in areas of work that they already have knowledge while others want to work in areas in which they have little or no experience. First, students may volunteer to assist with projects that are pending. Secondly, students may work on pending projects with the Nonprofit Clinic to satisfy a course requirement for a final project. Finally, students may request to work on a project with the Nonprofit Clinic and earn 1 to 3 hours of course credit as an independent study.

The GSPIA Nonprofit Clinic strives to give graduate students real-life experiences working with nonprofit organizations and helping these organizations solve problems. Since students are asked to prepare a written report of their efforts, the volunteers will have a written "product" to show prospective employers not only what they are capable to doing from their classroom experiences, but also what they have actually done from their GSPIA Nonprofit Clinic experiences.
